Ten minutes east of Pharr, there's a stage under the oaks. Cold beer, smoked cocktails, barbecue next door, Thursday through Saturday.
Pharr and San Juan share a line on the map, so this is less a drive than a turn. The stage is behind GW's BBQ on N Nebraska — outdoors, under string lights, open Thursday through Saturday.
Pharr keeps industrial hours — the bridge runs late, the warehouses run shifts — and the city has never really had the place you end up afterward with a band playing.
This is ten minutes away and costs nothing to walk into. Show up straight from work, get a table under the oaks, order something that took a minute to build, and let the set run.
The schedule changes week to week and gets posted on @postoakbeergarden. Being this close, it's also the easy call for a Pharr crew that doesn't feel like driving to McAllen and paying to park.
